"Like A Gemini" is a straight-ahead look at loneliness without regret, but with a touch of optimism.
These are songs from The Book of Life... Arte's and yours. Somewhere in his music is a song that you will think was written about you.
Arte Tedesco delivers strong songs with clear lyrics that define the human experience. Somewhere among his many songs, you will find one that you will feel was written especially about you.
Arte Tedesco songs tap into the core of basic human emotion... to reward listeners with music we can all relate to.
"Pittsburgh!" is the first single release from Arte's 5th album, "Lightning Strikes!". It is a love song for the City of Pittsburgh.
Arte Tedesco is a legendary singer-songwriter hailing from Western Pennsylvania. For more than four decades, he has delivered an extremely personal experience with each song. Seeing Arte in concert, one is struck with the feeling that he has stripped away all pretense and is allowing us to see the essence of the man inside. His songs tell of experiences we have all shared… and that is the connection.
During the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, Arte stunned audiences with his powerful, emotionally charged voice accompanied by a “machine gun” acoustic guitar style. In clubs and in concert, his original music drew capacity crowds in Western Pennsylvania, and parts of Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland.
Enthusiastic audiences came to expect the unexpected, and Arte delivered—both as a solo artist and as the lead singer and songwriter with THE HAYWIRE BAND and (later) ARTY and the IGNITERS. Fans will remember that he was on the first WDVE: Pittsburgh Rocks album, and later, with HAYWIRE, he released his own first album Silver Wings. In the mid ‘80’s, again with HAYWIRE, Arte released a regional hit single—“Dangerous Man” with a music video that was aired on the USA Network, as well as on over 150 independent TV stations across the country in a syndicated music video program—Odyssey! In 1994, Tedesco recorded another album with the Granati Brothers, a.k.a. “G-Force”, a powerhouse band and a major force on the Pittsburgh music scene. This album, entitled “Dangerous Man”, has another version of the title song as well as other crowd pleasers; “Special Lady”, “All of Me” and “Where Will You Go?”. At various times Arte has been enthusiastically joined onstage by Rick Danko, Tommy James, Clarence Clemons (they shared the same manager) and others. Arte's 4th album was Florida Dream, released in November 2010. It featured new takes on a few nostalgic favorites; earlier songs that had never been recorded; as well as some brand new material. Tedesco’s music is can be heard on Spotify, iHeart Radio, Apple Music, Jango Radio, and other online venues. Arte and his band are completing work on his 5th album, Lightning Strikes!. About 2 ½ years ago, Arte produced a fundraising video for Building Homes for Heroes, a non-profit organization that builds and remodels homes for our combat wounded veterans returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Arte (who is a veteran himself) was so moved by the people he met through the project, that he wanted to find a way to help. He found a way.
Now, after some 20 years of producing film and television music, Arte Tedesco is bringing back his energetic and soulful performances to the concert stage for what we are calling The Road Home Tour. And, Arte is looking forward to sharing his music with live audiences, as he has for so many years while supporting this great cause.
It is easy to hear the influence of the Florida tropics seasoning these tracks.
Florida Dream was produced by Arte Tedesco and John Blanche. The tracks were done at John Blanche Recording Studios in Longwood, Florida.
This album was recorded with the Granati Brothers, and their contribution is obvious.
Dangerous Man was recorded at Mulberry Street Studio in around 1996. Arte left Florida for 10 days to work on this album with the Granati Brothers. Each day began with Arte playing a song for the boys. They would work the rest of the day until the song was finished. Then, everybody would go upstairs, where the Granati Women would have an Italian feast prepared. Add Joey's wine to that and the magic was complete!
